There's a meeting at 3pm. One of the senators, Agnès Evren, has told the press explicitly that she aims to have him deposed. In the latest twist, I've read in Le Figaro that Ciotti has had the headquarters of Les Républicains on the Rue de Vaugirard shut down. The French are seeking to outdo us in self inflicted political drama😉. The next stage is Macron fucks off early from a Bastille day event then cocks up a nomination for an unwinnable seat in Ariège or Puy de Dôme

With Ciotti out of the party, I wonder if the Alpes-Maritimes constituencies are now in danger.

Now Reconquête has fractured, with Marion Maréchal and others breaking with Zemmour and calling for the national right to vote "coalition", which now appears dead in the water after today's events.
What a wonderful mess this is all turning out to be.

That's completely useless because it doesn't say what the 3 axes are.

Is Ensemble Macron's lot? This is insane.

Are they in effect (obviously not in law) a successor to the French Communist Party - more or less the same core support and a lack of much crossover support outside that? Not exactly. Communists have a common field in the banlieues (but insoumis are taking that back in national elections) but they have other places of strength for exemple the old industrial regions where RN is doing great but insoumis are not at all. That's how communists took back Lens which is in the heart of northern coal country. Lens is a very strange but oddly compelling place, as are its satellites. Anyone who romanticises France should be made to spend a day at the Auchan hypermarket in Noyelles.

What a wonderful mess this is all turning out to be. Not just a break, he has now formally expelled her. Which is what she wanted. But what will Zemmour's boss Bolloré do now?

Out of the 4 pollsters that released a poll post-election, Elabe is the only one that doesn't have RN leading by double digits (and LR is also worse there than in the other polls). Does anyone know if this particular pollster has a better or a worse reputation than the other 3?

It suggests the Left could be heading for a good result The thread was clearly written by a pro Melenchon lefty. But the centre-right is clearly imploding…

Seems like a big deal if true. Yes, but they still haven’t decided on a PM candidate, haven’t decided on a common program, and added some parties that are unpalatable even for normal left voters (NPA comes to mind). So it’s far too early to say that they have actually gotten their act together.
