Perhaps Macron's gamble did in fact come off?

Well this is a turn-up. Still a disaster for Manu, just a different one.

Perhaps Macron's gamble did in fact come off? By tanking the economy and frightening the wealthy into exodus?

Perhaps Macron's gamble did in fact come off? If he can find a way to splinter the NFP, yes. But if he can't find a government to cobble together...and if Melenchon demands to be PM...it's still a disaster.

They would have been in a better position if Attal didn’t essentially force him into legitimising LFI.

Much demagogue-ing. Edit: in fact he's said there will be not be a coalition with the Macronie. He presumably has not had that conversation with anyone else, but he doesn't accept dissent, so that wouldn't be a shock.

Melenchon won't be PM, NPF parliamentary group will vote amongst their number as to who will be their candidate. Likely to be the Greens leader. The centre left parties won't touch Manu with a barge pole.
Problem now is if NPF do enter the prime ministership they will struggle to pass anything

I think you need not worry. The fear that RN would achieve an overall majority has been replaced with a minority left who will be able to do very little

Problem now is if NPF do enter the prime ministership they will struggle to pass anything Doesn't Manu have enough patronage to win over enough of the moderate left for a wider centrist coalition? If not then surely the gamble has failed, even if it's spiked RN for now.
