but the fascistsssssss. I can’t even begin to describe my disgust with Attal and to a lesser extent with Braun-Pivet. I think you need not worry. The fear that RN would achieve an overall majority has been replaced with a minority left who will be able to do very little It’s not that, the horror articles in the Israeli press (which are admittedly almost certainly overblown) about the French left are simply terrifying.

Melenchon won't be PM, NPF parliamentary group will vote amongst their number as to who will be their candidate. Likely to be the Greens leader. The centre left parties won't touch Manu with a barge pole. Problem now is if NPF do enter the prime ministership they will struggle to pass anything Doesn't Manu have enough patronage to win over enough of the moderate left for a wider centrist coalition? If not then surely the gamble has failed, even if it's spiked RN for now. the left have been circling the drain of extinction. That would flush them down it.

I think we have to see the make up of the left bloc. LFI have a ceiling. One that certainly is to the benefit of PS and the Greens. Less so the communists who looked down and out in the first round

Faure is talking of a "relative majority", which is a stretch.
God knows how a coherent government comes out of this.

Green leader Marine Tondelier has also said "we will govern". Presumably "we" in this context is NPF?

France24 are torturing several of the party representatives and cutting them off if they don't respond with anything useful.
The LFI character is trying to insist that JLM should be PM without actually saying it. The presenter has just asked about Glucksmann...she didn't look impressed.

No self respecting Frenchman/woman should want the spineless and pathetic Glucksmann as their PM. Ruffin would be a better option even if he’s pretty significantly more left leaning.

Relief at RN being barred from power, but where do we go from here?

Delicate negotiations to follow, but the nuclear option which loomed large has been avoided at least.
