Oh my god... (and I'm an atheist). François Hollande is candidate for the Nouveau Front Populaire in Corrèze... I just can't take it. I'll try and forget. Has he been rehabilitated at all since his 4 per cent approval days?

Well, given Aurélien Rousseau (former government minister who negotiated the macronist pension reform) and François Hollande, my guess would be each party gives out their own support and no other party is allowed to contest them...
Apparently, they were all not happy with the union and decided to fuck it up by supporting the worst of the worst for each party. I'm waiting for Roussel (PCF) to throw his support to a Stalin's heiress or the Greens to support a tree or a cat.

Garrido is now claiming that she is in fact the candidate.
Melenchon is claiming that she and the others have been removed for "insufficient loyalty", which is of course exactly the thing they said he was obsessed with.

Even Trump eventually learned after 2022 that only choosing loyalty over everything else hurts you in the long term…

That's the way to victory.

You would think/naively hope that after a bunch of fascists won seats against LFI opposition in 2022 that the latter would begin to question whether they could do anything to improve their appeal, or dare I say it, that they are part of the problem? I mean, when theres been polling that shows the French people now think Melenchon is a more dangerous extremist than Le Pen, perhaps they should promote figureheads that are less poisonous?

Apparently the German government are planning for how to deal with a gang of commies or a gang of right-wing authoritarians taking power in France.
Given the approach to China and Russia, presumably much kissing of arses is incoming.

In other words, the civil service of one country is making contingency plans for dealing with the government of another country, in the same way that all normal civil services of all democratic countries do in relation to other democratic countries.

"Violent anti-fascist leader"* in Vaucluse, a département of symbolic importance to the RN *Is this accurate or just how he's being described in that article?

Polls have Le Pen beating Melenchon by 2-1 margin.

"Violent anti-fascist leader"* in Vaucluse, a département of symbolic importance to the RN *Is this accurate or just how he's being described in that article? From what I understand, the movement is genuinely violent. Apparently at least one leading member is a genuine Boko-Haram supporter…

"Violent anti-fascist leader"* in Vaucluse, a département of symbolic importance to the RN *Is this accurate or just how he's being described in that article? Yes, that's fairly accurate. He's fairly unknown to most people (this story has flushed him out to a degree) but he is the subject of a Fiche S, meaning he is deemed a potential threat to the security of the State. He's currently under investigation for claiming that his various past convictions are a Jewish conspiracy.

I want to congratulate the LR candidate in the Correze constituency where Hollande is contesting (unless RN somehow wins there)…. Hollande is going to win now. Valls has said it's a bad idea. Unless this is some sort of buttered-toast-on-a-cat situation.

Quatennens has now withdrawn. Ruffin has gone for Melenchon, and said "you prefer a wife beater to anyone who dares disagree with you".
Nominations close at 6pm CET.
