I wonder how LR/Ens 1st round voters are going to break this time compared to 2022. They didn't really break for the left last time. They decided based on the quality of the candidate, and it will be the same this time. Except there are 100more socialists and they are fielding quite well known figures. (Mayor of Douai against RN for example)

A thought. What's the best outcome for the RN right now? There's an argument that winning these legislatives is not the best outcome. If the Macronie descends again, then they've got an enemy in place, but he's just beaten them again. Surely the best outcome is one of this new Left coalition going into Matignon with a minority government. It is guaranteed to be a complete shitshow, forces Macron to attack them, and there will definitely be a Truss moment - the bonds are already in trouble. It might just be the best result for LR - and it might even be the best result for the Macronistas. Best outcome for the RN? Win the Assembly, propose some populist policies which Macron and/or the Senate are forced to block.

Looks like Ciotti won the legal battle over his leadership.

LFI has released its list of candidates. Except for Ruffin and Autain, they purged all the people who at one point were not on the same lign as Mélenchon, including incumbents Corbière, Garrido, Davi, Simmonnet...
At the same time, they still support Quattennens who was convicted (and pleaded guilty) of hitting his wife.
So Autain (who has always been a feminist first) said "in France insoumise it's better to be convicted of domestic violence than defending democracy, protesting against antisemitism after october 7 and pleading for the union of the left".
Ruffin said: "I wasn't stopped by the (fourches caudines) obstacles of your idiocy and your sectarian views. You prefer a man who beats his wife, author of domestic violence, to comrades who have the audacity of having a disagreement with the Big chief. Our democracy deserves better than you. "

This pollster, according to the comments, tends to place the Left higher:-

Well, honestly, I have never been a fan of Corbière, Garrido or Simmonnet. They were the previous generation of close apparatchiks to Mélenchon who were quite as bad as those that currently are his clan. I do appreciate Ruffin, who I believe to be the most consensual politician on the left, who kept criticizing his insoumis comrades for staying in the banlieues and not working on the rural/peripheric working class. He's also much more republican and understand better what (working class) people voting RN want (and he has never been a close relationship to Mélenchon). I really disagree with Autain more but I respect her as someone who always spoke her truth and never behaved as a hypocritical hired gun.
There are indeed dozens of insoumis or green candidates I would never vote for. At least in the first round. In my constituency, I'll not vote for the insoumis candidate as 1 vote = 1,2€ / year for the Insoumis (and I defenitively don't want them keeping means to keep destroying the left in the future). I will vote for him on the second round (if a second round is needed) because I will prefer his votes to the votes by Renaissance or RN in the national assembly, quite simply.

Totally understandable, I’d probably vote the same way if I was in your shoes. Btw, with Ciotti back in charge, I presume that the RN-LR alliance is going ahead?

If I were a LR politician (against Ciotti), I would create another political party to get my candidates a new label which will be able to pull public funds going forward.
Then, there's the question of current funds inside LR. They won't want them to stay with Ciotti. Their problem has always been their complete disregard for counterpowers to the president. I don't have knowledge of their statutes to know how to provoke a congress to change president. But I would try and do that, and in the meantime just let it be an empty shell.

I honestly don’t understand why LR still exists. Part of the party should just defect to Horizons, and the rest should create a party called ‘Gaullist Right’ or ‘Republican Right’ and join RN as a proper coalition member with more Economically Liberal (and less nationalistic) tendencies…

François Hollande is candidate for the Nouveau Front Populaire in Corrèze...
I just can't take it. I'll try and forget.
