There are currently 3 by-elections to be held during May.
- 1 by-election on 9 May - 1 on 23 May - 1 on 30 May
1 by-election is for a metropolitan council, last contested in 2022 1 is for a London borough council last contested in 2022 1 is for a Scottish council last contested in 2022
Conservatives defend all 3 seats, 2 following a resignation (1 of which was sitting as an Independent) and 1 the death of the previous councillor
With all SOPNs having been published, there is a full slate of 3 Conservative candidates, 2 Labour and Liberal Democrats along with 1 apiece for the Greens, SNP, TUSC, Workers Party and Scottish Family Party together with 1 Independent contesting 1 election – a total of 13 candidates for 3 seats.
Predictions on this thread at 9.00am on the day of the election.

May I raise the question with other competitors and robbienicoll whether with only 3 byelections it would be a good idea to roll the May competition together with June as was the case last year? I believe there are only a couple in June announced so far. Forgive me if questions of adequate 'sample size' occur to me!

Congrats to batman for the week. robbienicoll - there seems to be a bit of a glitch - most of the total faults figures don't match the total fault week figures from the section above.
