the most extraordinary act of electoral self-harm that is imaginable AKA the 23rd of June, 2016. Not that your friends in the Kremlin had anything to do with that, of course...

It was a legitimate decision made by voters to determine who governs them, and as such didn't constitute self-harm, no matter the outcome.

In that case, your dispute is principally with the original statement – if the good people of Leominster decide to return a Green MP then that is an equally legitimate decision about who governs them.

Of course it would be a legitimate decision, just a very stupid one.

Very weird, but also could backfire because of how very aware Reform-leaning voters in the constituency now are to the main challengers not being Labour.

I wonder if there was an maximum age threshold for sending out those letters.
I suspect in 2044 many voters in this constituency will take legal action against the Conservatives based on the eternal Starmer government's libel reform concerning hypothetical future statements.

The Lib Dem’s only got 14% last time so ‘collapsed’ is a tad dramatic…

Will confess to being very sceptical when this was first ramped as a possible Green Party gain. Credit due to them for spotting a gap in the market and simply going for it. (The win was dependent on Tory collapse, but even without that they might have got into second and placed themselves for next time.)
