Am thinking of leaving, it seems to me this place has a disproportionately full of right wingers, Lab centrists, Islamaphobic, Left hating types who seem to be quite pally and know each other or at least others identity. Well, personally, no, no, no, no and I knew one other member 40+ years ago (haven't seen him since) and until a pub meet-up a few years ago where I met 4 or 5 posters have - to the best of my knowledge - never met anyone else on here. And the only people whose identities I know are those who choose either not to conceal or are content to reveal. (My own identity isn't exactly hard to establish - I suspect googling 'Gwyn Griff Crewe Liberal' would give you details.) However, to return to H & SP, will the SEP lack of support damage the Feinstein vote?

I repeat I have it on a fairly good authority that most Labour candidates since the beginning of the week have been have been told to stay at home, do not attend hustings, do nothing in their seats. Obviously will not apply to tight marginals like Uxbridge, Harrow Chingford...etc The Ming vase strategy is hardly news.

I have only met 3 other forum members, when the LD conference was in Glasgow (2015?), and one of those is now dead, and one is now permanently banned from here.

Some people have been posting on the equivalent of this board for nigh on 20 years, so people know each other, plus there have been drink meet ups.
It's taken me a good while to work out things, being a relative newbie, joining only 5 years ago.
You definately are to the left of most on here, but that is good for the board, and just because we disagree doesn't mean you are wrong. People can be abrupt on here sometimes, true, but take the rough with the smooth and try not to be too prickly back, then I think you'll come to enjoy it overall. Most of us take short breaks to unwind from here sometimes, so disappearing and then coming back is not unusual. Your contribution overall has been positive so I hope you stay.

I personally quite enjoy being exposed to a wide variety of political opinions on here; I'd say it's pretty balanced overall.

It's the end of a very weird election campaign, people are frazzled, and nobody tends to come into a messageboard to agree with one another. In the years I've been here, there's been a LibDem surge, a far right incursion, and a Brexit revolution, and the tide goes in and out as the planet turns. I would suggest that you've seen the best and worst of forummers during an unusual and atypical time. We do get on, we even give out awards at the end of the year

I'd endorse this and it's healthy for all of us to be exposed to a range of well-argued views with some of which we are likely to strongly disagree. Judging by our poll on voting intentions, the one group that is dramatically over-represented here, compared with the general population, is the Lib Dems. But in the end, the fundamental question is what you are getting out of it, and there's only one person that knows the answer to that. PS: I've been on here for years and I can honestly say that I don't know (and have made no attempt to find out) the real names of the great majority of posters with whom I engage.

Go on then, spit it out as they say..... Do you not think that the posting style and obsessions of @weld and norflondon are fairly similar? Sorry to post on here, but no, we are not the same poster. My former aliases are conservativeestimate and Rockefeller.

That's actually quite a respectable performance by Feinstein.

I got carried away, but we shaved 17% off Starmer's vote. Labour are where they were in 1983 here.
