It would be really funny if he split the vote just enough to Labour in This is very similar to what happened in Hartlepool in 2015 and 2019, actually, except that Labour was defending the seat. Yes, but the split opposition was short-lived and Labour got shellacked in 2021.

Nothing unfair, nothing illegal. He lost. It's the paranoia of the right wing that thinks all losses must be "election interference". Ironic since the voter ID laws may have cost the Tories overall control of Slough of all places in 2023. And what did moving to FPTP do for them in certain Mayoral elections?

Also, as he says, the one time he gave it a real shot he was beaten by unfair and illegal tactics. Nothing unfair, nothing illegal. He lost. It's the paranoia of the right wing that thinks all losses must be "election interference". Yeah, nothing unfair. The Tory agent only got a nine month suspended prison sentence for deliberately and knowingly spending twice the legal limit...🙃

Tories whistling past the graveyard here. I'd call this for Farage. Will be amusing if they seat him next to Galloway when the House resumes.

If Farage will run, it'll be much like Perot where his deciding to run after all will take the wind out of his sails to some extent. Can't see him winning Clacton. I kept reading that as Poirot....

Given the contents of Galloway's recent interviews, I'm not at all surprised. How close Workers and Reform are in most policy terms?

Sunak will be backing him as a better next leader for the Tories than Farage.

I disagree since there's a big difference between running for US President and MP for Clacton, and Perot was not as well known in 1992 as Farage is now.

He's replaced Tice as leader. That's the next all party leadership debate with him taking part. On what basis would he be admitted to the debate at all? Reform had no elected MPs - defectors don't count!

Reform UK are polling higher than the Green Party or the Liberal Democrats, so it would go down very badly with the general public if they were included and Reform Uk / Farage was not.
You can get away with Sunak v Starmer only as they are Prime Minister and Leader of the Main Opposition, but if you open it up wider then Reform UK has to be involved.
Comparing Reform UK to UKIP, SDP, Reclaim etc, is very disengenuous of you. It's like saying Southport are as big a football club as Everton.

And even that's quite often completely ineffectual, as we saw when the SNP tried to sit on Dennis Skinner's lap.

But the Greens have been excluded from Tonight's STV leaders debate in Scotland - despite having elected members in Holyrood and having been part of the ruling Coalition until recently.
