And yes, one significant takeaway from this by-election is just how hopeless the MSM is, that they racked up £000s in expenses for a week in Rochdale Premierinn and not one of them called Tully as saving his deposit, let alone coming a comfortable seconds. With a few honourable exceptions, they are both lazy and clueless. This is a furrow I have been ploughing for a while now, it is good that others are finally starting to notice.

Oh come on, most of them would have been in the nicer hotels of Manchester rather than stay at the Rochdale Premier Inn*. They'll have kept their visits to Rochdale to a minimum. Some of them may just have sent an intern. There will, of course, be exceptions. This, btw, is not an attack on Premier Inns. I usually spend one of my holidays at a UK Premier Inn and think they are very good value for money. I can recommend both Torquay and Penzance to anyone, Exmouth and Scarborough are good and Newquay (town centre) has some rooms with noise problems. I'm back in Torquay in June, I'll spend most of my time in Brixham or Dartmouth, but similar hotel prices there are somewhat more expensive. * The Rochdale Premier Inn is actually pretty badly sited for the constituency out on the M62.

The Premier Inn Plus rooms are *very* nice. Stayed at Cardiff and was very impressed.
