And whom do they endorse instead?

"Keir Starmer has changed Labour so that it is unrecognisible from the party of 2019"
Exactly. I will never vote for Starmer's Labour. I don't agree with him. Many Muslims support Palestinians. Are Labour still the party pro-Israel?

TBF, I don't think this makes national Labour look bad. It should, because they should have done due diligence, but the wider public will assume that the local Labour party selected a local Labour man who looked like them and prayed like them and when national Labour found out about him they binned him pronto. The White Working Class vote gets that Labour has to negotiate a relationship with the Anglo-Pakistani community, they need to see who is the boss in that relationship. Starmer is providing the correct answer.
Furthermore, if Galloway wins, I think it is good for Starmer, he may act as a magnet for people Starmer can't throw out on a whim but longs to be shot of.
Think how different it would be if Starmer had married an Asian woman. (yeah, I know her family would not have allowed it)

And whom do they endorse instead? I'm hoping for David Tully, he seems decent enough from the information I can find.

Those Rochdale candidates in full: 1. Disowned Labour candidate who voiced conspiracy theory about the current Israel conflict (amongst, apparently, other discretions) 2. Former Labour/Respect MP with a curious relationship with the Arab world, the Islamic faith, and byelections 3. Former Labour MP who sent inappropriate messages to a 17-year old girl 4. A Green candidate with a social media history of dubious opinions about the current Israeli conflict 5. An anti-vaxx conspiracy theorist connected to the far right You could always vote LibDem. I had narrowed it down to them or the OMRLP, still not sure which I'd vote for!

Or our candidate. He's a former Man of Rochdale and a local lad. Only if he disowns the current government.

This byelection is turtles all the way down isn't it. Average Rochdale election I am going to disagree with that, having lived and voted their for 8 years. Most of the candidates have been decent and sensible people, local politics have been a bit dicier, but not as bad as some places. I feel sorry for my friends in Rochdale, though I suspect a lot of them won't really pay that much attention. Of course where does this leave Cllr Ali as leader of Lancashire Council Labour? I bet he wishes he had never bothered.

On the basis of what I knew earlier, I don't resile from my former opinion, as it was based on what I knew. I am not sure what has now come up, but, if still in Rochdale, I would be absolutely baffled about what to do as I would hate George Galloway's vile spite campaign to cause damage to hitherto fair relations in the area. Given the quite bizarre options on offer, I would probably spoil my ballot.

Making Nazi salutes at people is often seen as a demonstration of Irony. To belabor the point, it implies that the person to whom you are saluting is a Nazi
That notwithstanding, do we have any candidates who are not allegedly disgraced?

Also, why are Rochdale folk so keen on committing sexual offenses? Did Cyril put something in the water?

Interesting....Labour have a couple of Muslim parliamentary candidates (Gillingham, Chingford) , both women, but that's it. The many Muslim local councillors or candidates suggest that Labour can't deal with Palestinian issues unless they agree with Starmer's views.
