On this thread, the 9th post, Dec 2nd at 6.03pm In that case, why didn’t it appear when I did the search thingy? And how does the result in Bromley (caused by a death) have any similarity to the abovementioned Green gain in Ontario, in completely different circumstances?

I did "the search thingy" for 'Ontario' and found the post in question. Occam's Razor suggests that you might have fallen foul of a typo? No idea what the "effect" is supposed to be, though.

To be fair to John, I also don't find the Ontario post when searching within this thread. I think this is a proboards issue, as it happens in other threads too. Looking at proboards support it looks like it's be possible for AdminSTB to request a reindex of the forum which might help.

The Hayes & Coney Hall result didn't come as a huge surprise. Even in the mid-90s, when the Conservatives briefly lost control of Bromley Council, Hayes and the West Wickham South Ward (which included Coney Hall) always polled over 50% for the Conservative candidates.
48% is a decent performance but nothing more given 2022 was a poor year for the Conservatives in the Borough winning 41.5% of the vote which wasn't much better than 1994 but better than their worst recent performance which was (surprisingly) 2014 with a 39.6% share (UKIP polled 20% in that election and won just two seats).
I think the only way the Conservatives would have been in trouble is if a Reform candidate had stood and put in some effort - in 2014 the three UKIP candidates chased home the three successful Conservative candidates polling around 21% in the Ward.
Labour confirmed themselves as challengers in the Ward, the continued weakness of the LDs was evident and the Greens seemed to have gone AWOL which is a bit odd.
I don't detect any anti-ULEZ sentiment in the vote - the numbers are very close to 2022. The truth is it is a staunchly Conservative area and to break that requires years, not weeks, of campaigning.
