Not the Flo most of us know and love. I am scatching my head at the description of the photo. A nice photo of a city? Really? Looks more like a picture of hell to me! The only thing I agree on its clearly not the UK because the vehicles are on the wrong side of the road, and if it's in Italy the term Spaghetti Junction would clearly be appropriate. And the buildings you can see clearly are the usual motorway associated dross. The only decent way to arrive in Firenze, which I have done many times, is by rail. The picture right at the bottom ahows the Arno flowing through the city and the Ponte Vecchio. I had a lovely week in Firenze in March and I arrived and left by rail.

Ah yes, my error- I hadn't scrolled far enough, obviously, or the scroll had stuck- trying again there was Firenze in all its glory, Glad to know you visited the city in the correct manner. My best experience of the city was visiting over a new year -freezing cold, long icicles hanging off the bits of the statue of David, but very beautiful and rather fewer foreign tourists. So the next question is can anyone identify the motorway junction in the picture I was looking at- again, clearly in a country driving on the right and as I thought pretty anonymous?

I think you’re looking at the wrong photo (the big junctiony thing with buildings to the right). There is another much prettier photo (of Florence) further down the page (it’s below the bit which looks like the bottom of the page - you have to scroll down further). Oops - I notice that iainbhx got there first. I obviously didn’t scroll down far enough.

I believe it is the junction of the autostrada A2 with Voivodeship Roads 192 and 311 as part of the Poznań bypass section of that road. It's known as the Poznań Komorniki interchange.

Wow that's an impressive identification, much more than recognising Firenze once I was looking at the right picture

Maybe you could be a little less rude to a fellow Forum member John. It's ok, I have the hide of a rhinoceros. Although I enjoy the irony of being called "insane" by a Loony. It takes one to know one....

Very wise organisation looking at that opening paragraph. I would suggest you continue reading.

Very wise organisation looking at that opening paragraph. I would suggest you continue reading. I presumed he meant “wise” in the non-literal sense. The pomposity oozing out of the first paragraph obviates the need to bother going further.

I wouldn't wish to derail this thread (see what I did there? Sorry.). But, it's basically a bloke with some crayons in Lichfield who seems to think HS2 should run to ... Lichfield. Setting that aside, his proposals do not appear to be technically, physically or operationally achievable. But apart from that . . .

Do we think the choice of the Reform Party candidate's name is coincidental or designed to confusion with the Conservative candidate? I suspect the latter. Ian was appointed our parliamentary spokesman for Tamworth at least 6 months ago, he stood in the council elections in May and also a council by-election earlier in the year (although on both of those occasions only as a paper candidate).

Interesting local by-election. Is it a sign for what happens at the parliamentary by-election?

I’ve been in Tamworth today campaigning. Ed Miliband gave a little rally, pointed out the significance of the seat given the 1996 by-election result. Saw no Tory presence anywhere, this isn’t an area with a culture of posters and lamppost boards it seems. I did see a little band of Reform UK activists but they mainly seemed to be walking around the high street with placards rather than talking to voters.
I think Labour will win but I have never come across an area more ‘anti-politics’ ‘anti-‘them all’’ ‘sick with the lot of it’ ect ect. You always hear a lot of this when canvassing anywhere, but it seemed like a different level and from all ages. Also, not relevant, but every single house seemed to have a dog!

Quite astonishing how little coverage this by-election has gotten. I really hope Labour haven’t taken their eye off the ball here with all the focus on Mid Beds (I don’t think they have, but only time will tell).

A reminder that Labour needs a 22% swing here. I think they'll do it, but this might be in recount territory. Please add a poll doktorb🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️.
