I notice from the BBC local news report that Alan Hope is intending to stand in Uxbridge & South Ruislip. A reminder that the last time there was a parliamentary by-election in Uxbridge, the OMRLP got more than ten times as many votes as the UKIP. So this time ten times as many as the Conservative?

Strange that he would delete this.. nothing wrong with it, certainly nothing that would gain enough traction to jeopardise his chances at gaining the seat either. And by doing so he’s only drawing more attention to it. Stupid…

I gather that last week Labour canvassed the entire constituency. They have a helluva lot of activists out. I haven't managed to get there since the by-election was called although I went twice not long before.

Regarding the Independents: Two (Kingsley Hamilton and Leo Phaure) are single-issue anti-ULEZ (Ultra Low Emission Zone) candidates, one (77 Joseph, real name Thomas Darwood) is a perennial Christian candidate, and the other (Cameron Bell) I cannot find any useful information on at present.

The only 3 by-elections that had more candidates were the 2008 Haltemprice & Howden by-election with 26, the 1993 Newbury by-election with 19, and the 1999 Kensington & Chelsea by-election with 18.

Can he beat that this time?

the other (Cameron Bell) I cannot find any useful information on at present. Possibly the person of that name who stood in Belmore ward of Hillingdon for the Tories in 2022? Someone of this name was also Mayor's Escort to Tory Teji Barnes in her year as Mayor of Hillingdon, 2020-21.

Someone of this name was also Mayor's Escort to Tory Teji Barnes in her year as Mayor of Hillingdon, 2020-21. It is indeed the same person-Cameron Swaran Bell. I can only presume he resigned from the Conservatives after Boris Johnson resigned as PM and decided to stand as a "Borisite Conservative" in protest against the parliamentary inquiry which would have resulted in a 90-day suspension for Boris Johnson had he not resigned his seat.

That's a big SOPN.
Richard Hewison is leader of Rejoin EU.
What kind of cruel parents call their son "Danny Boy"?
Binface + Corbyn + Fox = Box Office.

Apparently, the one certainty in all the 5 (probably) pending by-elections is that Labour will be fielding a white male

Apparently, the one certainty in all the 5 (probably) pending by-elections is that Labour will be fielding a white male Well, given that Labour has a female majority on its Commons benches, that is just redressing the balance, isn't it? The colour issue (just one Black male) stíll remains an issue, however.

I Wonder who will come higher - the OMRLP or the Unoficial Monster Raving Loony, Piers Corbyn.
Having the Corbyn name on the ballot is decidedly undesirable for labour.
