I don’t think it’s likely but there must be some chance that Labour get a larger majority in Selby than in Uxbridge.

I suspect this is noise. Surely there can't be any way for a single MP to work out how a seat performs based on GOTV? My experience today was the opposite, really really positive

Whilst I would love us to hold the seat, I think it's far more likely that this is an attempt to maximise the vote and keep people engaged. Not to mention clickbait by the Huffington Post.

My experience is that there's no necessary correlation between seniority in the Labour movement and accurately evaluating electoral feedback. Could be meaningful, could be Chicken Littles.

I have friends at the count and will give the turnout figure the moment I hear. There was a good steady flow of voters, throughout the day across the constituency - weather was pleasant.

I went on 2 knock-ups, sadly not with European Lefty although we did meet for a few minutes. There were one or two won't says but we also found doubtfuls switching to us and generally the feedback seemed pretty positive. The mood didn't seem overly nervous overall.

Locally, many of us in the party have been thinking that it will be very close and could go either way. It has been a hard slog on the doors, with ULEZ being a very big issue. What might swing it for Labour, is a good showing for Laurence Fox or No ULEZ Leo. I think they could split the No ULEZ vote (which the tories are hoping to get) and let Labour in. I've seen quie a few No ULEZ posters around myself in the southern part of the constituency.

Getting won't says on election days isn't that unusual.
It's impossible imo to know how well you're opposition are doing but if the labour party in Uxbridge are using reading pads or turnout which I think is unlikely then they might have an idea of the labour vote. If it's below 40 then you might think in a two horse race that could be close

Can I ask what wards you knocked up in? There are some marginal wards of interest to the party, for the 2026 council elections.

This seems to be a rounded figure - the precise number of ballot papers tallied is reported as 31,002.

Beth Rigby and Sam Coates reporting Uxbridge Labour sources saying it is too tight to tell..... Not sure I believe that, but we shall see.

Verification must be in full swing so they must have a fair idea by now.
Lab gain by 3k is my guess.

Shaun Ley of the BBC has grown a beard, thereby making him look older. The BBC election programme is better than expected so far, with proper facts and good graphics. I switched over to Sky briefly to compare, but they were on adverts.
