Any idea what the vote shares have looked like in recent local elections? Not a neat one to do as I recall because there were a lot of Independents. My calculations were that councillors elected in May in this constituency were Con 15 Ind 8 LD 1 Green 1 |

I suspect Labour will be tempted to hold back here but it is a mistake for the long term future of the party to concede the rural commuter south to the Lib Dems imo

Blocking a peerage because you don't want a by-election, only for the MP to resign anyway in a fit of pique at not getting a peerage, just about sums up this government of self-serving scoundrels and ratbags.
