Watling South result: Carol Dean, Labour - 714 Alex Farrell, Conservatives - 858 Barry Gwilt, Reform UK - 110 Helen Miller-Viney, Lib Dem - 160 I know this isn't in the same place as the district byelection, but Tamworth is a fairly homogenous place overall and so this is IMO still a strong indicator that Labour would have won the Belgrave seat without an Independent standing. It is a 15% swing

Best individual result was Grn +48 in Kent, worst was Con -52 also in Kent. Lab was positive everywhere except -1 in Tamworth, Con negative everwhere except Tamworth (+4)

Given turnout it's probably hard to draw wider lessons about what Labour's results in Tamworth mean for future contests, but the narrowness of the defeat in both cases seems to me like it's indicative of a weakness in local Labour organisation and targeting.
