Gillian Coghill is presumably a relation of the resigning councillor . If they're both from Caithness, that's probably a given...

Further to your list above, an election has been called in the Halcon ward of Taunton Deane. This is a three-member Lib Dem ward, but it is not immediately clear which councillor has resigned.
Notices of election have not yet appeared for six seats, where there are no county council elections: Barking and Dagenham (Longbridge) Leicester (Abbey) Rotherham (Rawmarsh) St. Helens (Windle) Salford (Weaste and Seedley) Wolverhampton (Blakenhall).
Notices of Election have not yet appeared for Colchester (West Mersea) and Lichfield (Fazeley).

This means some 7 of the 119 + 1 (Taunton Deane) vacancies may not be held on 2nd May although there is time for the notices to appear of the council websites.

Thanks - I have now found the Wolverhampton Blakenhall notice of election.
Halcon is one of the town wards of Taunton Deane and is correctly titled "Taunton Halcon", notwithstanding the Council's own notice of election.

Thanks - I have now found the Wolverhampton Blakenhall notice of election. Halcon is one of the town wards of Taunton Deane and is correctly titled "Taunton Halcon", notwithstanding the Council's own notice of election. The Taunton Deane website seems very good at hiding information about the 2011 election results and the by-election, so much so that I have still been unable to find it!!!

An election has been called in the Chertsey South and Row Town ward of Runnymede Borough in Surrey, following the resignation of Stewart Mackay (retires 2014).
Although the Conservatives currently hold all three seats in this ward, it was a close run thing in 2012, with long-standing Conservative "stalwart", John Edwards, holding his seat against an Independent challenger by 1 vote, after 3 recounts.

So delete it, then End user error. Couldn't find the 'delete' button. Had too many Easter eggs watching Election83 yesterday, so I panicked and just wrote 'deleted'. Apologies. School boy error.

Peter Farrell , Conservative councillor for Melcombe Regis ward on Weymouth and Portland DC has sadly died . He had originally been elected as a Lib Dem councillor in 1999 but managed to hold his seat in 2012 as a Conservative . The other two ward councillors are Lib Dem .

Can I ask where we're putting new vacancies now, given that they're not likely to be fought on May 2nd? I originally posted the vacancy Mark's posted above here, but then realised it's unlikely to be fought on 2 May, so I moved it to the other thread.
