Yes I thought so (and the "Govt" legend underneath the Moderates etc suggested as much too) but the presence on this thread and with the parliamentary election imminent left room for a little bit of ambiguity. Are the municipal elections to be held on the same day as the parliamentary elections?

Before they joined the EU they had voted only once in 4 years - hard to imagine for You Britons with Your annual local elections...

Annual except where they aren't annual (and indeed every 4, or even 5, years)

Something to keep an eye on, which may morph into something a bit bigger.
SD have made the bizarre choice to hold a special fika* to celebrate Nazi Germany's invasion of Poland. Not going to help their reformed image or help them become part of a broader right-wing coalition.
*fika is most similar to elevenses or afternoon tea and is a major institution in Sweden.

Perhaps I’m misinterpreting you but this sounds absolutely beyond the pale and the sort of thing that would make them completely radioactive to pretty much everyone else??

Either few neoNazis in some hamlet or it was realiter meant to commemorate the inVasion. But the left journaille will frame it differently. (Although it could backfire: In some polls SD was so far ahead of M, that a coalition of them - in case of getting enough seats - became more and more difficult. If voters swing from SD back to M this could actually increase the likelihood of a coalition.)

Panic mode in the SD leadership right now as they are claiming that it was both a rogue employee but also that it was to celebrate Polish resilience. They might still be able to quarantine it off.

The reason was, that the SD-employee has a Polish accent (at least according to Akesson).

All rather confusing.
The member in question is of Polish descent, so obviously it was all to celebrate Poland and not the Nazis. But the colleague has been reprimanded and the fika cancelled. Not sure what sort of message that sends...

The polls fluctuate quite a bit, and you can't accuse the Swedish pollsters of herding. But on average the pro-Andersson side has a small majority that is well within the MoE. If the SocDems retain their traditional ability to gain a bit in the final days she should be safe, but that's ofc far from certain. No matter who wins tricky government formation talks lie ahead.

The situation in Sweden reminds me of - Israel: After the unimpressive show of midLeft midRight seemed to be able to achieve a breakThrough, but finally it could end as it was with a staleMate. Though with Lööf likely be gone Centre might this time be willing to go into coalition with TheLeft.

By the way: I think, something important hasn't been mentioned here yet: Mrs.Lööf announced, that she would want Mrs.Andersson as primeMinister. So Centre is going the Norwegian way and is now firmly on the left side and the old Alliance is dead.

YesYes, You mentioned, that Lööf had indicated this. But her publicly&openly saying to support only a PM Andersson few days ago is a new step, that burnt all bridges to the exAlliance.
