They never have, like in most of Birmingham. Wrong as usual. We've come second in Hodge Hill, Ladywood, Yardley, Sutton Coldfield, Perry Barr over the years. Thats half of Birmingham. and not far behind in Hall Green once, too. And of course the Liberals won Ladywood although it was a tiny seat in those days

Do you really want to remind everyone about the lie told about the 2010 selection?

Do you really want to remind everyone about the lie told about the 2010 selection? I'd forgotten about that I recall that Sion Simon was persuaded to vacate the seat in exchange for a run at the Mayoralty, which then didn't happen for another 7 years. It surely isn't true that Mr Dromey won an all women shortlist?

That explanation for why Sion Simon stood down was notably inventive as far as explanations go.

That explanation for why Sion Simon stood down was notably inventive as far as explanations go. Possibly, though not by me. A 10+ year old memory of an event I no longer recall. I still smile whenever I hear mention of the AWS though.

Certainly some similarities but B and S has a far higher Muslim population as well as a significant rural element. I think it is therefore less likely for George Galloway to pop up.. but never say never.

It wouldn't surprise me if they make an appearance here.

Interestingly, this constituency had the same Conservative, Labour and Lib Dem candidates in each of the past four elections. Has anywhere else in the country been that consistent with main party candidate selections?

If the Green Party can't win here you must ask where they can win. A must win for the Green team.

Couple of other observations:
1) One of three Birmingham constituencies in which every ward voted Leave in 2016 2) 98th highest Leave vote by constituency in 2016 but only 365th highest BXP vote in 2019 Euro election (Hanretty estimates)

I thought Brexit had got done already? No. Boosters are required, even if you've had two Brexits already.

Well, we held Tyburn with a defector who I was on Housing Committee with. As well as Ann Holtom holding Tyburn, back in 1982 we won two seats in the All Ups in Kingsbury (Castle Vale), our third candidate was the late Ray Hassall who was later Councillor for Perry Barr and Lord Mayor.
