Will Sunak call a June election to avoid yet another damaging by election in Hazel Grove? Wragg hasn't resigned yet and it doesn't look like CCO is putting any great pressure on him to do so at this stage. Au Contraire, they have threatened him that if he does resign they will release the compromsing pictures

He is fairly senior, though I agree it's a moniker used far too often. Especially on this forum 😉

It's probably too late in the life of this parliament, but the The Times has its facts right, it looks like Fylde has possibilities.

It's probably too late in the life of this parliament, but the The Times has its facts right, it looks like Fylde has possibilities. Extraordinary story. Implications of blackmail threats over gay sex, ,misuse of party funds to pay off the supposed blackmailers, abuse of office, allegations repeatedly referred to whips, but nothing done. Seperately, reports off intoxicated poor behaviou in public. Sounds like a really nasty man.

Think we're right back at that often revisited conversation, about how Parliament deals with certain behaviours and traits. How many "tired and emotional" people are given more rope than others, how many "troubles" are smoothed over, and how many are pushed out of the door at the first instance?

This is becoming an almost weekly occurrence. A lot of North West representation too, on top of Hazel Grove, plus this is next door to Blackpool South!

Fact of the day: Mark Menzies was on David Cameron's A List.

He’d been reselected as well but this presumably rules him out now

It's probably too late in the life of this parliament, but the The Times has its facts right, it looks like Fylde has possibilities. The present Conservative Party seems to have had an insatiable demand for bottom-feeding filth and scum in its candidate lists. There is just no end to these stories coming out. It is a party to be avoided until it thoroughly cleanses itself. The electorate will do the first round but there will be a lot more dregs to flush out as they seem to attract one another and protect one another. What a state of play. What a sorry position.

Please please please, anybody that this happens to - PHONE YOUR WHIP! Trying to manage it yourself and hope you can sweep it under the carpet will never work. Go straight to the whips, they have the knowledge of how to deal with these things. Got caught with the Soviet Ambassador - straight to the whips. Got caught speeding - straight to the whips. Accidently took a hit out on somebody's dog - straight to the whips. If you're worried about your political career, it will be worse if you try and fiddle it yourself. Go to the whips.

And he's lost the Conservative whip. They knew about this for months. He only the lost the whip because the Times found out.
