I hate to be a pedant (there are many people on here who are far better at it than me), but shouldn't this tread be called 'North Yorkshire PCC' and not 'North Yorkshire PPC'? I very much doubt the electors of this fine county are preparing to select a Prospective Parliamentary Candidate. Yes this "tread" ought to be titled PCC but then equally it ought to be a thread. Sorry but that's where pedantry gets you. Touché, I will take my shame as I deserve. My rare attempt at pedantry has shown me it's not my battle to fight.

Also, this is actually a PFCC election (I gotta say, you'd expect a police fire and crime commissioner to be dealing specifically with cases of suspected arson.) maybe it ought to be police fire and/or crime commissioner ? I don't want to commission any crimes, but I might want to commission a fire in a couple of weeks.

That's not a heavy metal umlaut. That's a diaerisis.
(Sounds like a medical procedure)

I voted at 9pm. I was voter no 20* out of 150 in a village that pretty much always turns out above the overall level. That equates to 13.3%.
* Yes what about postal votes. We have 5 postal voters (and I doubt all of those will have returned their ballots)

I wonder if it'll beat the previous record low (11.9% in 2012 in Staffordshire I think).

Turnout 13.94%. A clear two points above the record low for a PCC election and within half a point of bungle 's prediction, but over 11 points lower than May's election. Count to begin at 11.30.

Wiltshire PCC turnout was 16.63%. I would imagine interest in the two by-elections was much the same amongst their electorates, so the difference probably shows how much poorer weather and fewer daylight hours has on turnout.

Elected Police Commissioners really have caught the public imagination haven't they?
