I'm an idiot and can't read. It's my third PCC election. But not by-election. If you are 20, how have you managed even that? In total this will be my 4th. Living in both Northumbria and North Yorkshire police areas since turning 18 has caused this.

Contrary to the Clean Air Act 1956, subsection seven, burning of outdated political leaflets.

Contrary to the Clean Air Act 1956, subsection seven, burning of outdated political leaflets. That's the annoying thing. They're not outdated, but if I deliver them they'll be caught up in the PCC election expenses.

Ah, the Representation of the People Act 1918, Subsection 23, tell them to stop screwing around with my leaflet delivery.

IIRC there was a previous PCC by-election in mid August (West Midlands?) forced by two voters from a particular party. Turnout fell but almost every party that stood again got a raw vote increase with the fall absorbed by absentees.

Parliamentary and Regional Mayor election expenses don't require declaring leaflets that promote council candidates, so why would PCC elections be any different?

I hate to be a pedant (there are many people on here who are far better at it than me), but shouldn't this tread be called 'North Yorkshire PCC' and not 'North Yorkshire PPC'?
I very much doubt the electors of this fine county are preparing to select a Prospective Parliamentary Candidate.

By the way this is not a Prospective Parliamentary Candidate (*) but for a Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner.
(* And could people please stop using the term especially post election? The requirement for this legal fiction was abolished years ago and if you say you are "a former PPC" then that technically means you didn't even make it to the ballot paper.)

I so enjoy it when the connection drops and by the time I get the post up the point has already been made.

Sorry but that's where pedantry gets you.

Also, this is actually a PFCC election (I gotta say, you'd expect a police fire and crime commissioner to be dealing specifically with cases of suspected arson.)
