Barnet - East Barnet Turnout - 48.5 % Con GAIN Bailey, Gabrielle Louise - Green Party 547 Hooker, Sean James - Liberal Democrats 415 Lusingu, Linda - Labour Party 2,257 Merola, Alex - For Britain Movement 49 Richer, Nicole Alison - Conservative Party 2,549 ELECTED If there were going to be any gains or losses in this week's London council by-elections, I am fairly sure that this was the most likely one. East Barnet was a split ward before Thursday, and remains a split ward now - previously, 2 Labour and 1 Conservative, now, 2 Conservative and 1 Labour. I haven't yet looked up precise figures, but I am fairly certain that this amounts to a swing of between 2% and 3% to Conservative from Labour since 2018. I may comment further later.

Richmond - Hampton Wick Lib Dem gain from Green. Turnout 57%. Lib Dem 2447 Con 1232 Green 538 Lab 446 The result in 2018 was: LD 2,636 LD 2,439 GREEN 1,738 CON 1,642 CON 1,280 CON 1,275 LAB 415 LAB 307 LAB 258 so clearly the Lib Dem voters were not entirely happy with the electoral pact with the Green Party in 2018

A more pragmatic pact would be in relation to the SW London GLA seat where the Tory hangs on each time with a small share of the vote due to divided progressive opposition.

They are just lucky there was a Green candidate, otherwise Green supporters might of felt inclined to lend their support to the Radical Recyclist!
