Unfortunately, the latest edition doesn't seem to have been compiled with as much care as its predecessors. Once it was belatedly published, I switched to using it to provide the size of transfers between constituencies as an input to my estimates of the electorate in each of the parlconst sub-Areas. However, I am discovering rather too many errors to give me confidence to rely on it. The latest example is the make up of the new Gower seat - Rallings and Thrasher say that 5.2% came from Swansea East. This seems unlikely, as the only transfers from Swansea East were due to very minor ward boundary tweaks. My estimate, based on Martin Baxter data, is that the figure should be 0.6%. The House of Commons Library estimate (which uses a less precise methodology, based on Census Output Area centroids) is 0.8%.
