Fark. This could be a Nats kicking if early numbers keep up...

I love NZ TV, Ms Arden's partner feeds the TV crews outside their gaff...!! I visited New Zealand in the early 2000s and spent a bit of time in the Parliament. The rather gentle and mildly non-partisan feel of the place sent me back to some childhood memories. Like any country it has its problems but it has a lot going for it. Living there seemed very attractive, except it's such a long way from anywhere I know! They'd made some wise moves on farming and I learned a lot.

Early votes I know but Taranaki is looking like a Nat kicking zone.
The Maori party are in the running in Waiariki.

Early results suggest it's very lucky for the Nationals that there is a PR list to supplement the constituencies, as they are losing FPTP seats all over the place, including some "safe" ones.

Nationals looking like winning 20 or so electorates out of 65 - even worse than their 2002 mauling.

The South Island is looking awful for the Nats. At the moment they are behind in Ilam, Nelson (which looks gone) and Rangitata (south of Christchurch).

Brownlee on TV1 has basically conceeded Ilam. He will be back on the list though.

The Greens look like they have gained Auckland Central although there are some Labour booths to come in.

National seem to have underperformed their poll numbers, as they often do.

Collins just gave her concession speech. No indication of resigning, but Mark Mitchell sounded lukewarm earlier.
