The Greens and OVP have agreed to go into coalition. This will be the first time that the Greens have served in government.

The Greens and OVP have agreed to go into coalition. This will be the first time that the Greens have served in government. At the federal level yes. On the state level, the Greens currently govern in 5/9 states and used to govern in Carinthia in the past. They have never been in government so far in Lower Austria, Styria and Burgenland.

ÖVP&Greens are still in their HoneyMoon: oe24.at/oesterreich/politik/Umfrage-Aeltere-waehlen-OeVP-Junge-Gruene/416520417Several difficulties of the new Greens-ministers were unsurprisingly covered up by the left journaille (i still cannot understand, why a totally unexperienced party like the Greens established two 1.5 ministries; and i still doubt, that this will work well). Yet, several quarrels between the partners - as in the old days of SPÖVP - have already been covered by the media.

OpinionPoll by "UniqueResearch" for "Profil" (n=804):
38 ÖVP 17 Greens 16 FPÖ 15 SPÖ (!) 10 Neos
First time for "ever", that SPÖ is so low and only fourth. Probably also caused by the fact, that Burgenland's victorious PM Doskozil will have hired his mistress for a job (said to be paid with 5.300€) in his office.

The CommerceChamber had its elections. I cannot find a total result, but ÖVP seems to have increased its large majority among the BusinessMen, strong declines for FPÖ and TurnOut.

A wet Dream i have had for years was fulfilled (with help of the CoronaVirus): To add up in several days the numbers of the recent CommerceChamber-election in order to see, which profession voted for which party. drive.google.com/file/d/1S1QT0J0WF1YaPAlq1cylU3NIreAdXfzM/view?usp=sharingObviously the electorate was small and the participation low, but nonetheless fascinating patterns emerged: NEOS as a self-proclaimed BusinessParty surprisingly weak outside the IT-bubble, the GREENS generally stronger than expected, FPÖ unglorious (especially in EastA., where their support has always been lower than in the more liberal WestA. due to Lueger absorbing the BusinessClass into the ChristianSocialP. and a generally more socialistic approach).

OGM - Austria's best pollster - came out with this: The highest share for ÖVP since ~1985! SPÖ behind THE GREENS, FPÖ on the lowest level since ~2006.

Its already been majorly relaxed in Austria, no? I would say its more a sign of politics becoming relatively "normal" again.

Its already been majorly relaxed in Austria, no? I would say its more a sign of politics becoming relatively "normal" again. Well, pundits have explained it in that way - simply a return to normality -, too. And Kurz' numbers are - as written - still better than before Corona. Yet, some characters, who a short time ago praised the coalition for its sharp response, the public for standing united aso., do already demand an end of the LockDown. And the BlameGame, the quarrels for who will pay for record-UnEmployment and bankrupt companies has not even begun so far...

OpinionPoll: Party: Chancellor: SatisFaction with ÖVP&Greens in general (above) sive concerning Corona (below): From the beginning only few (even of ÖVP- or GREENS-voters) were "very satisfied" with the present coalition.
