I thought setting up a dedicated Canadian Federal Election thread would be best, not least so I can set a poll of the forum.
The latest CBC tracker has the Conservatives just in the lead in polling, but the Liberals are forecast to be largest party, just shy of a majority.

The latest regional polls show big swings from the Liberals to the Conservatives in pretty much every area apart from Ontario and Quebec which is why the Conservatives are projected to be ahead in the popular vote but behind in seats since most of the seats are in those two provinces. One pollster has said that the polls show the two main parties neck-and-neck in the Atlantic Canada provinces, which would represent a massive swing since the Liberals were about 30% ahead there at the last election.

Oh, well - Abacus polled a gap of 16% with ~140 responding (or being asked?), Nanos sees the GREENS as a distant second...

I am hoping that the Green Party will win at least four ridings (Saanich-Gulf Islands, Nanaimo-Ladysmith, Victoria, and Esquimalt-Saanich, all in British Columbia).

Would the Liberals enter a formal arrangement with anyone or run a minority Govt and using various parties to pass legislation?

Would the Liberals enter a formal arrangement with anyone or run a minority Govt and using various parties to pass legislation? Coalitions don't really happen in Canada. Hung Parliaments are elected fairly frequently and the largest party tends to govern as a minority.

If it's enough of a nailbiter, could the likes of the NDP exert sufficient pressure on Trudeau to go for a PR referendum?

So much for the blackface appeal.

So much for the blackface appeal. I think its more to do with the corruption in Trudeaus administration than the blackface nonsense - I have yet to meet a Canadian that cares.

Those latest projection figures would surely lead to another election within a relatively short time because even a coalition involving the NDP and Greens wouldn't get any part to the 170 needed for a majority.

Whenever Justin Trudeau is in the news in the UK, it always seems to be because he has done something yet again to emphasise the fact that he is a dilly booliak - whether it's wearing black face, or dressing in Indian clothes. I actually know very little about the domestic political issues of Canadian politics.
I have decided to I'm abstaining in the poll, partly in sympathy with my sister and brother-in-law, who have not bothered to apply for postal votes (or whatever they are called), despite becoming Canadian citizens a few months ago.

Ugh. Recovery of the BQ the last thing Canada needs... Clearly Quebec voters saw Trudeau in blackface and thought "this guy is an amateur, we want the genuine brand!"
