That's a record for Shetland in a Scottish parliament election. Has it happened where the turnout for a by-election has been higher than the previous GE?

The turnout at the Mid Staffs by-election in 1990 was 77.5% compared to 79.4% at the 1987 general election.

The earlier tweet referred to the arrival (at about midnight) of the final box by road & ferry.. I'm slightly surprised that some of them were not transported by helicopter. I wonder what the normal ferry journey times are from the outlying islands? Presumably the police had arranged ferries which were specifically contracted to be available to transport the ballot boxes.

If you just want to go to bed now, yes.
If you insist on waiting for the actual declaration, no.

I was going to ask if there was any live coverage of the count or the result on any TV channels or websites (I checked what was on BBC Alba, just in case) but I noticed that there are people on Twitter complaining about the lack of any live stream or whatever.
I don't even know why I'm staying up so late. These days I usually go to bed before midnight, and manage to get up at about 9 am. I could easily have waited until daylight before bothering to find out the result.

SIBC is 'broadcasting' a series of unremarkable current pop songs with occasional interruptions for station identification. Don't know if it will interrupt them when the declaraion comes but just in case: www.sibc.co.uk

I clicked on your link just in time to hear the applause at the end of the declaration. I expect you're typing the result while I'm typing this.
