Varoufakis..by the laws of Zeus how the hell did that happen? How people cannot see through this ludicrous self-publicist continues to astound me. Especially as his European "movement" is also riddled with some of the continent's biggest poseurs.

Especially as his European "movement" is also riddled with some of the continent's biggest poseurs. Yes, that a specialist for theoretical economy is a doctrinaire full-idiot, is nothing new. (In Austria J.SCHUMPETER was in the 1920ies for few months FinanceMinister - after the first CabinetMeeting his dispaired "colleagues" were aware, that "the great economist" was totally incapable...) But that creature's cynical grinning was/is hard to endure.

Thank You a lot for the numbers - i cannot see anything of the EC on my SmartPhone. The NewsPapers don't provide results on their own, only copying the EC (thus also not visible for me). TeleVision-channel "Alpha TV" lists all parties (incl. the Liberals at ~1.5%) - but not GoldenDawn! Summa summarum: grotesque.

Some CentralEuropean politicians hope, that the ND-government will - after Greece has received billions from us - be willing to fulfill the Dublin-treaty and hold back the immigrants from Turkey in future. Unlikely to happen though.

This rather odd system where the lead party gets another bloc of seats in addition to their proportional vote rather breeds corruption - which will no doubt bhe returned to with full gusto with one half of the old duopoly back in charge

Big victory for the left: After 4 years of bad governing they are nontheless ahead by 2% (48.5:46.5)!

Logic appears to be that you vote for EU-bootlickers then the EU gives you cash = wash & repeat...
Probably won't take long for this to fall apart...

Golden Shower on 2.96% when the threshold for seats is 3%. Where's the world's tiniest violin gone?

Golden Shower on 2.96% when the threshold for seats is 3%. Where's the world's tiniest violin gone? A party narrowly missing the 3% threshold is a running gag in Greek elections. How does it happen so often even when it is a different party each time?

Although it never became real under DC. The 55%-rule was invented in the 1920-ies, i think?

I hope we can all agree that Golden Dawn fulfil that description

Yes of course they do. My point was that the allusion that Gwynne makes to the BBC obsessing about the rise of 'far right' parties in Europe is generally based on the (relative) electoral success of parties that are nothing of the kind (AfD, Lega, UKIP etc).
