she will not recieve an immediate imprisonment I wonder what the factors would be to make such a difference with the Huhnes’ sentences. The Judge has just said the Huhne/Pryce case was clearly more serious - Huhne pressured Pryce to lie.

She is a solicitor, not a barrister. My apologies. But still a legal professional who should know a lot better. something the just has just made clear..... "Evidence that as a qualified solicitor, you did not know what you were doing, is incredible and I reject it".

Judge: "I'm sure Ms Onssanya was driving the Nissan Micra"..."coming from you [Fiona], evidence that you didn't know what you were doing, as a qualified solicitor is incredible and I reject it."
Fiona - 3 months Festus - 10 months (includes a reduction of 15% for his guilty plea)
Activate the Recall Petition.

Which is how she will probably end up being known for the remainder of her time in parliament......

She's been bloody lucky there. If she has any sense she'll withdraw her appeal now!

Although I note that "In the case of a conviction, the recall petition will not be opened unless the appeal period expires without the conviction, sentence or order having been overturned or all appeals have been heard and dismissed." (from www.electoralcommission.org.uk/__data/assets/pdf_file/0008/194057/Recall-spending.pdf)Which suggests that she can keep her job until appeal process is exhausted.

So, is it suspended or not? There are conflicting reports out there.

So, is it suspended or not? There are conflicting reports out there. Don't think so. The judge said he *can* suspend the sentence, but both Fiona and Festus were led away.

No suspension of sentence then? That’s one less Labour vote in Parliament during the current Brexit debates.

Could the prosecution appeal against the leniency of the sentence?
