I'm confused - will the sentencing still take place tomorrow, or is that on hold until after the result of the appeal?

You're not being imprecise at all, honest The whole thing is quite new to the UK, as I am sure you know. The organisation in North Antrim was criticised for only opening three sign-in centres alongside postal votes. Peterborough might open far more, we have to wait and see. North Antrim opened three because that's how many council areas the seat covers part of. The Peterborough constituency is entirely contained within one. Actually, no. Since 2014, North Antrim has only covered two district council areas. The reason for 3 was that those were the 3 urban centres in the constituency.

Standing room only , I suspect. What time do we expect an announcement? Another 15 minutes, perhaps? This BBC reporter is tweeting from court: twitter.com/tombarton

The judge is thinking about a starting point of 12 months for Festus, which would imply Fiona Onasanya will get less.

The judge is thinking about a starting point of 12 months for Festus, which would imply Fiona Onasanya will get less. I'm not sure why she would get less. The crime was committed for her benefit, presumably at her instigation (not sure what his finding on that will be), and she pled not quilty (and has shown no contrition or remorse; quite the contrary). The judge has already said that he isn't intending to pay much attention to Festus's previous convictions.

Whilst he has form and has obviously been a bit of a toe-rag, he was surely in her thrall and doing her bidding or facilitating her rather than something for himself. And he confessed and co-operated. She as an MP and 'officer of the court' literally and actually should have known better, and was complicit in advancing a nonsense tale of a Russian and of being economical with the truth and failing to cooperate at all. Would that not make her offence far worse? judge has said being an MP will have no affect on his verdict

She is a solicitor, not a barrister.

She is a solicitor, not a barrister. My apologies. But still a legal professional who should know a lot better.

she will not recieve an immediate imprisonment I wonder what the factors would be to make such a difference with the Huhnes’ sentences.
