He said pretty unambiguously on Twitter the other day that he wasn't going anywhere. Of course that doesn't in itself mean he won't, but...... ...... as much as many of us would love him to. He is a menace and totally out of place in any Labour party

New members can be marshalled....but he has strayed very close to the edge. The average member has their breaking point

Back on topic - hearing rumours of a 'hush hush' guest speaker at UKIP conference. Clearly some are already talking of a defection, with (unsurprisingly perhaps) the MP for Rochdale being touted as a possibility. Danczuk and Carswell would make for an interesting "parliamentary party".

Assuming he followed the UKIP precedent, Danczuk trying to hold Rochdale at a by-election for UKIP would be interesting to say the least.

One of the things which makes me doubtful he will jump ship, at least for the forseeable future. His ego wouldn't take losing a by-election well, I feel.

An interesting possibility. Baroness Jenny Tonge - independent and former LD peer and strong supporter of the Palestinian cause has said she is an enthusiast for Labour under Jeremy Corbyn. I'd welcome this one. Always been a great admirer and despite its image the LD's are a very Zionist party. Have you ever met any Lib Dems Mike?

Danczuk is closer to the core demographic,

Not my fight - but if Danczuk and Lammy are the answer - I'm really not convinced that you're asking the right question.

They are just addressing a fringe meeting. It happens.

I'd be more concerned about the nutters on the main stage than the nutters on the fringe...

I have gone off Blue Labour if those two are now its main advocates, tbh.

I don't think Danczuk is Blue Labour. Their key selling point is the effect of globalisation on communities and the need to temper that with support for communities and identity politics focused on place and tradition. They aren't necessarily pro-market.
Danczuk is much more Liz Kendall Blairite economically and he is also pro EU. Tends to be very hard line on welfare and takes a populist stance.

Whilst I'm not suggesting it's likely, it would be fun to speculate which four Labour figures would be most likely to form a new Council for Social Democracy.
I would suggest Chris Leslie, Gisela Stuart, Liz Kendall and Tristram Hunt.
