Stuart is anti-EU, which rather queers the pitch there.

Whilst I'm not suggesting it's likely, it would be fun to speculate which four Labour figures would be most likely to form a new Council for Social Democracy. I would suggest Chris Leslie, Gisela Stuart, Liz Kendall and Tristram Hunt. And who would the one defecting Tory MP be?

Oh that has to be nice little Zac who has very little conservative about him starting with the silly name.

Just tell the little squirt to fuck off. (Declaration of interest- I filled up with diesel and had my car washed in Buckingham this morning)

Not strictly a defection per se but the Labour Party have finally thrown Sonja Crisp under a bus formally suspended from membership the Rt Hon the Lord Mayor of York. The whole saga doesn't seem to have been reported on here but it has been dragging on for a month. A good flavour of the issues can be found here. Quite how she survived as a politician with such a lack of political awareness and a high handed manner leaves me baffled. But then again this is York Labour and they have real form in this regard.

What's the badge on John Hemming's lanyard?

John Hemming has spent a decade trying to end secrecy and expose bizarre decisions in the family courts. He's one of the country's leading experts on it all. It wouldn't be a bad thing if he had written the UKIP policy himself, as at least it means it would be less loony and more sense.

Yes, Carl Gardiner doesn't like John, lol. You and I have disagreed over the years on some of the key family cases that have made it into the news, and it isn't a surprise that we still do.
