He'll be issuing a further statement tomorrow. We can all look forward to that.
Marazion and St Erth must be about 10 miles from Helston. It's at least 25 mins in the car. I wonder if he genuinely thinks that news of his resignation would have made the front page of the West Briton and damaged Green chances.

another rather pompous announcement, following on from that of Stephen McPartland a few days ago. Perhaps we in this forum should all take turns to make pompous announcements of our own.

I thought it quite summed up Labour's position in Herefordshire that, in the last local elections, our best result was in Hope End.

There are certainly places there where we *should* be able to pick up significant support - maybe next year? EDIT: or even this year, ahem

It appears to be the coating on the paper leaflets that's the issue. I He comes across as a total nightmare and someone unwilling to basically take orders - which are how political parties work.

News from Helston: The post is in three parts, be prepared to squint if you're using a phone. Oh dear. The guy clearly has significant issues but if by some freak circumstance his PPC-ship had turned into MP I can't help feeling it would have ended in much tears. I think parties have a duty of care in these cases.

Leafletfrog, the supplier he's talking about, do print in a very green way - at least for the printing they do for local Green Parties (which, with the commercial discount we get, is almost always cheaper than any local supplier, hence the regional recommendation to use them). His other complaints are much more substantial. So it's weird that he chose to lead with the leaflets.

I've delivered a training session where someone spent the whole time trying to pick a 300gsm card apart, to 'prove' that it was laminated. "It's system change that's necessary" is a message that's still to get through to many Greens.

I am vaguely aware of someone who complained that Leafletfrog use gas in their premises. Obviously, it would be nice to not use fossil fuels but if you need to heat preexisting commercial premises, electricity is not really an option unless you have an onsite wind and solar farm and amazing battery storage (along with the money to build and retrofit)
