I await professional officer advice on that matter. I would be comfortable with No description, Unaligned or unaffiliated. But you are correct, the capitalised word Independent has connotations I dislike, although to be fair, the current aligned group of Independents on Aberdeenshire Council are a huge improvement on the group I first served alongside. I do not think it is yet time for a Whig. .....but the time for the Whigs may come? Congratulations and commiserations at the same time on the step you have taken, which I know can be both liberating and confusing at the same time . Hope you come to understand you have done the right thing for this moment in time at least. Good Luck! |

I’m sorry you have had to take this decision @boogieeck, but I completely understand. Hopefully one day soon you’ll be able to proudly bear the title of a Conservative and Unionist councillor once again.
