I thought that was a hand crafted wind up but checked on wiki! We are in International Masturbation Month. Truly getting close to the End Times. Well I think the intent is to delay the End Times A new form of wrist management.

I'm not a hundred per cent sure who this Councillor Wallace is. But I am a hundred per cent sure that @boogieeck is suspicious of his motives and programme

I wish nothing more than to rejoin the Conservative group. I gave them my list of demands a while back. I gather the second of my three demands may be on the point of being met. They won't move on your third request of creating a Nicola Sturgeon statue.

2020 has been a fairly awful year, I think we can all agree, even if we disagree on why and in what way. I hope the Forum will forgive the self-indulgence but this thread is rather about me, so I will use it as the thread about me. In 2021 I intend to lose a bit of weight. You can't really help with that. I also hope to be less rude. You can help with that. I shall insert a poll in this thread, entitled Is Boog avoiding being rude. The options will be yes and no. Votes will be visible at all times and you can change your vote as often as you see fit. If you vote that I am not avoiding being rude, then you may perhaps wish to quote the current example of me being rude. The poll will be open for the duration of 2021. If you would be so kind as to clear up one small matter (more about guidelines for the vote than anything else). The poll currently shows one "yes" vote and no "no" votes. Does this mean that you are voting in this poll? Or does it mean (in the absence of any data regarding the identity of the sole voter) that you have an (at least currently) anonymous admirer? (For the absence of any doubt about my own position - I have not myself voted in this poll so far, and do not intend to do so at least until it has been running for at least long enough to make a statistically informed opinion.)

For what its worth, as someone who used to be very overweight and no longer is, I have found getting regular exercise to be at least as important as how much you eat, maybe more so. And that doesn't nessecarily mean going to the gym, there are more enjoyable methods of exercise. Take up martial arts for instance. Many online classes are avaliable due to lockdown restrictions.

Yes but also (and this may be stating the bleeding obvious) it is what you eat, rather than how much. I lost a good deal of weight a couple of years ago by basically cutting out carbs but eating a high fat diet while doing fairly minimal exercise (mostly brisk walking). I have more or less completely undone this work over the last year mainly through an indulgence in potato or corn based snacks and through chocolate (and, God help me, Frosties which I think are worse for ones general wellbeing than smoking). I propose to resume this regime in the new year, to some extent at least. Even cutting out crisps and replacing with pork scratchings can make a significant impact (and pork scratchings are nicer anyway)

What you eat is certainly important. Best thing is to start with a healthy breakfast with plenty of fibre, like weetabix or porridge. I understand going too far in cutting out carbs can actually be quite unhealthy, balance and moderation is the key. Drinking plenty of water is also important.

I eat full fat Greek yoghurt mixed with double cream (and just a sprinkling of granola) for breakfast - still following the 'regime' to that extent. Sometimes a low-carb fry-up (ie sausages and bacon). You're quite correct about the water

I have voted no as the level of rudeness is disappointingly low.
EDIT: Apparently I am not aloud to vote

I have found getting regular exercise to be at least as important as how much you eat, maybe more so. When I was working in Westminster I was as generally obese as I was until earlier this year. However, I did go to the gym every week. Since August I have not really don't that much additional exercise, but I have limited what I have eaten. As a consequence of eating less, unsurprisingly, I have less mass. This morning I was about 1kg less than when I relaxed my "eating less" discipline than the same time last week. I have relaxed a bit over Xmas. Exercise in my view is a good idea, but to improve the cardio vascular system not to lose weight.

I’m on a beer based diet at the moment, but running an average of 5k a day seems to be keeping the weight down well

I have voted yes on the basis of this statement. It does not, however, divert me from my view that a poll on a question as to what I think your objectives are is ill advised as it is not that objective.

I skip breakfast. I have a 400odd calorie tuna salad with two wholemeal pitta breads at lunch to make up for it. If I feel like it, I also have a 200 calorie Skyr. Don't often after the salad though. I male sure to do an hour of walking each day with at least 6k steps, about three miles. I also lift weights on occasion.

I have voted 'Rude' of course because of the nature of the person, the nature of the times and the nature of the word itself. I like rude as in 'rude mechanicals' and value it as such. We underrate the importance, effectiveness and utility of rudeness.

The contention that I am avoiding being rude currently leads by 13-7. This is encouraging. I think I may block one forum member to assist me to maintain my behavior. Good manners prevent me from naming who. Yourself?

I think the poll options need splitting: - Yes, Boogs is avoiding being rude and I am content with that
- Yes, Boogs is avoiding being rude, but I would like him to be ruder
- No, Boogs is not avoiding being rude and ought to behave himself
- No, Boogs is not avoiding being rude and thank fuck for that

I think we need to raise a people's army of 3.5% to protest against the confusion which will inevitably be caused by the double negative and verbosity of "not avoiding".
