Hmm, 25 polling stations and just 47 electors in the smallest polling district. Are both of those records? In Walkley there's a polling district with two people in due to the ward boundary having been tweeked after a flat was built on it. It will vanish when (if) the new constituency boundaries come in So those two electors have their own polling station?

It will vanish when (if) the new constituency boundaries come in So those two electors have their own polling station? In local elections they're paired with their neighbouring ward polling district, in general elections they're paired with their neighbouring constituency polling district. Luckily, there hasn't been a general election on local election day. Before the 2017 general election there was the prospect of a conjunction in 2020 if the new constuency boundaries didn't go through, now there's the prospect of a conjunction in 2022 if the new constituency boundaries don't go through. I asked an electoral officer about this, and he said they'd do everything in their power to get those two electors a postal vote.

It is in the power of a local authority to change the boundaries of polling districts within wards at any time. It's just an administrative arrangement rather than a statutory boundary, so if 2 people are on their own then they can easily be merged with whatever is next-door.
