This is something quite special. LEICESTER Belgrave Padmini CHAMUND (Labour Party) 5,477 Khandubhai Vanmalibha PATEL (The Conservative Party Candidate) 412 Hasmukh Keshavji CHANDARANA (Liberal Democrats) 238 Ursula Elisabeth BILSON (The Green Party) 199 Double checked and not a typo. Turnout was 2,000 votes lower than last time (using the top vote method)

Impressive turnout given the weather, time of year and the presumably remoteness of money residents.

Could be a long count with 4000 papers and presumably quite a few stages.

HIGHLAND UA; Wester Ross, Strathpeffer & Lochalsh (Lib Dem resigned) Candidates: BERKENHEGER, Gavin (Conservative) BIRT, Christopher (Labour) BRANDT, Irene Frances (Green) CHRISTIAN, Harry (Libertarian) DAVIS, Jean (Independent) DURANCE, Les (UKIP) GREENE, Richard (Independent) MACINNES, Alexander (SNP) SCOTT, George (Liberal Democrat) 2017: Con 1036; SNP 859, 608; Ind 796, 656; LD 752; Grn 628; Lab 285 2012: LD 1162; Ind 871, 677, 234; SNP 632, 378; Con 257 2007: SNP 1486; LD 1242; Ind 792, 608, 328, 232, 199; Con 451; Lab 354 The Labour and SNP candidates both stood here last year. Richard Greene was the second indy last year, but was the top indy elected in 2012 and 2007. The indy elected last year was the Lib Dem elected in 2007 and 2012. This is currently carlton43 's home ward, if he would care to share any insights. As to outcomes I have no idea because I don't know the candidates and the area is massive. I have no evidence of any LD come-back and feel that both Labour and Conservative are improving with LD and SNP declining. Recent British events may play differently here and national events are still working through. Conservatives are gradually picking up wards year on year from a zero base quite recently. I expect this to be a LD loss probably narrowly to SNP. Hmm, 25 polling stations and just 47 electors in the smallest polling district. Are both of those records?

My local Polling Station is probably smaller than that tbh. And isn’t there one somewhere (can’t remember where) that is in a caravan?

In Walkley there's a polling district with two people in due to the ward boundary having been tweeked after a flat was built on it. It will vanish when (if) the new constituency boundaries come in. There was a PD with zero people in it from 2004 to 2010 where a boundary that followed the river was moved to the railway line at Heeley Bridge.

Caravan polling stations are not that unusual (I've voted in one myself) and aren't necessarily a sign of a small electorate. For several years one of the Crewe urban wards used a caravan.

Birmingham has used Portakabins from time to time. My local polling station is the grandly-titled "National Spiritualist Church" in Kings Heath. It's actually rather small and quite dark inside.

When I was a child Leeds City Council used to hire my uncle’s caravan and he and my dad used to have to drag it literally directly across the road to Roundhay Parish Church where it served as a polling station. My auntie was even able to submit receipts and get reimbursed for cleaning materials.

I found the one I recall after a quick google search, it’s on Mull and has thirty electors.

Strong possibility of nobody reaching the quota here, SNP seem too far away and Conservatives would need all the Independent and Lib Dem transfers. Very good showing by the Greens.

It's almost worth pitching a tent in it just to annoy the Electoral Registration office.
