Those poor buggers with a mere £5m + in savings/investments! Dont know how they manage!
..and yet still a good chunk of the population think they should be left untouched while the rest of us are about to face Austerity Mk2.

Wish that they would provide a full breakdown of the others, assume REFUK 4 or 5%:-

Love this sort of statistical oddity. Latest two polls (YouGov and ComRes) have three of leading parties -1 and no commensurate + for any party!!

Interesting - and encapsulates Labour's problem. They are not picking up votes from the Tories, but that is the norm. However, the LibDems may as well not exist at all, and are not in a position to pick up soft Tories who may not be entirely happy with the government, but would never even contemplate Labour, even if led by someone who looks and sounds like a Tory! I did say this would be the inevitable outcome of choosing Ed Davey as leader.

Doesn't that show that the only way forward for Labour is a strategy which attracts people who previously voted Conservative, so replacing Starmer with another Corbynite or left-winger would be insanity?

They aren't going to attract those people. Ever. But Labour tribalist types have never been able to fact that fact. What Labour need is a LibDem revival which has contributed to their previous election wins. Alternatively they will recognise that they do not benefit from the current electoral system and so will look to change it. That would, however, lead to likely realignment, which also upsets Labour tribalists as they think they have an entitlement to the votes of anyone who is not Conservative Should they be unable to get over their majoritarian tendencies then the likelihood is another Tory government.

Mike that’s rubbish Labour attracted plenty of conservative voters in 1997.
