Interesting that there is no Independent Community Health candidate in Rock and Bewdley. It’s about 20 years since they were formed in Kidderminster now and are still on the council so they obviously have some durability. Does anyone know what their politics are? Have they morphed into a sort of Residents group? I recall( possibly incorrectly) that they might have been close to the Lib Dem’s at one stage. They are the sister party of the NHAP (just as Alliance are the sister party of the Lib Dems in Northern Ireland) and campaign for the same things that we do in the rest of the UK. When did Wyre Forest declare UDI from the rest of the UK?

The Independents in East Devon are mopping up the anti Conservative vote quite successfully. ( not that I am saying there would be that many more Labour voters in these villages) Claire Wright got 21000 votes at the general election and Ottery St Mary is her home patch and the winner was certainly supported by her There must be some chance of the Independents taking East Devon at least into NOC next year.

I believe there was one in Herefordshire last year? EDIT: nope, the one I was thinking of was 1.8% in Bishop Froome & Cradley

If you remove the "mobile." from the Twitter link, as I've just done, the forum displays it nicely for us all

Nothing like that in this part of the world since the '97 parliamentary by-election... It looks as though a lot of previous Labour voters went LibDem to try and oust the Tories, possibly in part because of the fact that this by-election could have cost the Tories control of the council. There were also 204 more votes cast than in May, and 6 more than in 2016.
