so, almost entirely sampled after the Queen's death. Although they obviously won't say it openly, the Tories must have hoped for some sort of improvement in these extremely unusual circumstances.

I actually wonder if it may have been unhelpful in some ways for them because it completely drowned out Truss' big announcement on energy bills from the news cycle and they may have been hoping for a bounce from that. Although, that said, the announcement was so widely trailed that any bounce may already have been factored in.

There was a poll by yougov I think that showed a plurality of people thought Truss had performed well in her duty as PM in the aftermath of the Queen's death

Opinium sticking out like a sore thumb to an even greater extent. Though even their latest was the second biggest Labour lead since they revamped their methodology early this year.

The general trends in the electorate are so violent and febrile that the polls are next to meaningless. This one looks stupied than usual and I really doubt nearly all of it.

Would be nice if they published the breakdown of Others straight away rather than having to wait until they can be bothered to put the full tables on their website.

Indeed - but they seem to be a couple of points down in almost every poll since the departure of Truss. I think all the latest polls have them on <10%. So 6% is probably within the margin of error.
