The Knesset is debating the dissolution bill. There's also a bizarre report that Likud offered to rotate the Prime Ministership with Amir Peretz of Labor, I am a wee bit sceptical to say the least. Anyway, get ready for #Israelelex2020! www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog-december-11-2019/

The other day I had a dream in which one of my favourite gorgeous hunks was appointed as Prime Minister of Israel.

Benny Gantz has announced that he'll also now annex the Jordan Valley if he wins, "in coordination with the international community". Netanyahu has replied with, paraphrasing, "why wait?".

The latest developments are, that Avigdor Lieberman has violated the censorship surrounding Netanyahu sending the head of Mossad to Qatar. Lieberman says this was Netanyahu 'begging' Qatar to keep sending money to Hamas after its scheduled end date of March 30th.This was to keep the ceasefire going. Also, as hundreds of Israelis are going to have to be quarantined due to potential exposure by ROK and Japanese tourists to the coronavirus, twenty polling stations are being prepped to be used by quarantined Israelis so they can exercise their democratic right.

I agree that not all Zionists supported the settlement program I would describe myself and Yachad as political Zionists. We believe in Israel as a Jewish and democratic state and support laws like the right of return to ensure Judaism remains a large majority. There are different interpretations of political Zionism, such as Revisionist which wants to annex Judea and Samaria, but we're all political Zionists.

However, I do not support Zionism as you know.

In the run up to the final weekend before the elections this is how things stand.
Six former heads of Shin Bet and Mossad come out against Netanyahu saying he's a danger to Israel who uses classified information for personal and political gain.
A top adviser to General Gantz has been fired after Channel 12 aired a tape of him saying Gantz is a "danger" to Israel because he wouldn't be willing to attack Iran if needed. In a development that has appalled Israelis it turns out that this was recorded by the man's rabbi during a private consultation. The rabbi is a big Netanyahu supporter who has led prayers hoping the nationalist camp gets 61 seats.
Avigdor Liberman has said that Netanyahu told King Abdullah that Israel won't annex the Jordan valley, it's not clear how he knows this and Likud have denounced it as "an absolute lie".
A video is going around Twitter showing Bennett storming out of the Pgosh Et HaItonut studio.
Finally, the polls show that the race is tied with Lieberman as kingmaker. If he again refuses to back a government then Israel will have a fourth election later in the year.

What’s the game plan of Lieberman’s voters? Has this drama affected the government’s functioning? If it has, it is very bad strategy from Israelis as they are wasting precious time when Trump is in the White House.

What’s the game plan of Lieberman’s voters? Has this drama affected the government’s functioning? If it has, it is very bad strategy from Israelis as they are wasting precious time when Trump is in the White House. Lieberman is making a transition from being a rabble rousing champion of the Russian minority to embracing the secular and liberal Israelis. The main reason why he won't back any government is because he doesn't want one propped up by either extreme of the Haredim or the Arabs but a coalition between Gantz and Likud minus Netanyahu. That wins a lot of sympathy with ordinary Israelis who feel the same way. This won't be resolved until either Likud win a majority without Lieberman or Netanyahu goes.

As of 2pm turnout is 38.1%. An increase of 1.6% since September. It goes without saying that this could be significant depending on where it is occuring. If it's Tel Aviv, then it benefits the anti Likud forces, if it's the likes of Kiryat Malachi, this will benefit Likud, as it would if it's a pro Zionist Arab town. Of course, there's a good chance that it's Arab towns like Nazareth, while there are Christians - many of whom are pro Zionist, it's mostly anti Zionist Muslims, which would benefit the Arab parties. We just have to sit tight and wait and see.

Latest - Turnout still up and pollsters are dropping big hints of an unexpected result. At this stage the nationalist camp is optimistic and the left are starting to get concerned.

Also, Bennett says Likud will win 37 seats and former Labor party leader Shelly Yachimovich told Channel 12 “there’s real panic in the Blue and White party. It’s no accident Blue and White leaders are in Tel Aviv with megaphones, because the turnout in their heartland is weak. They may come to regret turning down President Rivlin’s suggestion of a power-sharing rotation with Netanyahu”.

Gantz has tweeted in relation to the reports above.
"Awakening has begun in the blue and white focus cities. In the last election, hundreds of thousands of people voted in the final two hours. That's a lot! Go vote!
