Die Linke in big trouble. Collapsing in the Saar where it looks like the locals have had enough of the fighting between Sahra Tankieknecht and everyone else. Sahra is rapidly turning into the Gorgeous George of the BRD. But as long as they hold those Direkts in Berlin, they'll be fine and I don't see them losing those.

Apropos Wagenknecht - have i already narrated, that in talk with Peter Scholl-Latour, a Gaullistic (despite german) journalist, Oskar L. referred to himself as also a Gaullist?

Whenever I see talk of traffic light, I can’t help but wonder why the FDP would join that coalition given they were too right wing to join a Jamaica one with the CDU and Greens. Given 2 of the key clashes last time were the environment and taxation, are they really going to find they have more in common with the SPD instead of the CDU, nevermind if the Greens end up in charge? Has anyone considered a fourth traffic light to make things easier? Red, Amber, Double Amber, Green.... Throw in a calling on and you have the perfect railway signal coalition ;-)

What is that? A mate who is a bit of a signalling buff named his daughter Amber. Obviously I refer to her as Double Yellow.

Obviously I refer to her as Double Yellow. It's a girl's name, given a huge boost in popularity by the 1944 bodice ripper "Forever Amber" set in Restoration England, which was banned in several US states and Australia and condemned by the Catholic Church.
This ensured its huge popularity and it was made into a successful Hollywood film.

Only on this forum does the subject of Blackpool North railway station appear in a thread about German elections. Yes, it's a very, very odd experience catching a train from there.

And it hasn't got any better through lockdown. I can't name a single other railway station where the staff appear to have learned, man to man, veteran to newbie, to have such open contempt for passengers.

I suspect they were trained in customer service by the Stasi.
