We left the house shortly before 9.00 am on Thursday 19th July returning this afternoon. I had received hempie's predictions before I left and his are timed on my computer at 8.02 am. The next posting is from andyajs copying his private posting timed at 9.11 am - he would have done this only after the 9.00 am deadline. The next posting is yours at 9.18 am. I can only assume you posted after andyajs and that he copied his posting after the deadline.

Although it makes no difference to the result whatsoever I must make an official objection to the 15 time faults added to my score . I had no idea until a few minutes ago that the time displayed depends on which browser you happen to be using . I tend to use both I/E and Google Chrome all the time and have never spotted this phenomenum before . Some techie needs to tell us what is going on .

I agree someone needs to explain any time difference. If you had indeed posted at 8.18 am I would have picked it up before I switched off my computer shortly before we left the house a little before 9.00 am.

I do accept that in the real world I posted at 9 18 am though at the time I posted in my I/E world it said and I believed I was posting at 8 18 am . If I had posted in my Google Chrome world it would have said 9 18 but I use Google Chrome mostly for my Ebay postings. Now I am aware of the difference though have no idea why there is one so in future I can allow for this even though I don't understand it .

I have found a clock or watch is helpful in these situations Quite possibly , the only clock i have is on my cooker and "watch" is on my mobile . I assume that the time shown on my computer is correct and am totally baffled as to why using I/E on this site the time is wrong but not with Google Chrome and why I/E is ok on other sites .

Taking my tongue out of my cheek for a moment, I think that there will be 4 different places you have to set the time in some way - firstly on your PC itself, and remembering to note that you are using daylight saving time/BST then on your profile on this site (again the important bit being to remember Dailight saving) then on your browser preferences - I suspect the first two above and whichever browser is giving you the correct answer are all correctly set (but it would be worth checking) and the incorrect browser doesnt realise you are on BST. I'm afraid I don't use chrome or ie so couldnt tell you where to find the stuff in the prefs

Google Chrome is correct everywhere including this site . I/E is correct everywhere else EXCEPT on this site . Now this says to me that the problem is with this site and not with my browser except in so far as the site interacts with I/E . I am no computer expert but I am au fait enough to know that it is not simply a Daylight saving setting that I need to make .

Fair enough,
The obvious answer would be to stop using IE (in fact that is the answer to a lot of things) as it is clearly (as you point out) an issue with the way this site (or to be more accurate proboards bb software) communicates with IE. although iirc I had a similar problem with firefox or safari for a while
It went away when I noticed that right at the bottom of your profile modification screen is an optin 'currently observing DST' yes/no - this is different to the way other BBs seem to hold it.
If you haven't already checked that, it would be worth doing so, if that doesnt work as i say - drop IE
