One of Tytherington's councillors was recently convicted of harrassing his neighbours. This should perhaps be on the useless fact thread but there are places called Tytherington, Prestbury, Alderley and Henbury around Macclesfield. These places can all also be found in Gloucestershire too. |

Robert got the best score in 4 of the 8 contests which is particularly impressive.
I'm happy to have come second this week and particulary to get no wrong winner faults as the outcomes in Ashford and one of the Anglesey contests were very uncertain. I'm not too pleased with my performance in the London contests, especially as I was wrong footed in exactly the same way by Larkswood in 2009

I should add that in relation to the London contests I fed the results of the GLA (list and constituency, not Mayor) elections into my equation and I think this was a bad move. Time and again these elections have shown themselves to be poor predictors of other elections, although in respect of the desperately low LD vote in Larkswood at least they would have been correct (but I chose to ignore that aspect)

My thanks to those who have said nice words about this week. It may have been due to having broken up for the summer hols that Wednesday, and so spending some minutes actually doing a bit of research for once. Or more likely it was a case of everything must happen for the first time - and the last time! (Or perhaps it's due to not 'cheating' this week by copying the template from another predictor  ) I do however think it is quite evident from the evidence over many months who the wisest andmost informed predictors are. For that reason I thought the cumulative rankings on the previous site were a reasonable idea - whoever thought them up. ;D |
