They keep changing more and more rapidly and I can't keep up. Brothers of Italy are the old National Alliance (formerly MSI). Obviously you are familiar with the Lega and Forza and with the 5 Star movement. All the others are Communists more or less so you can ignore them

Hardly, they're hugely diverse. Only Power to the People is mostly communists, though apparently modeled on Momentum, hard to see how that might work. So far as I can tell, Free and Equal is a coalition of socialist groups, to the left of the Democratic Party, as is Together. CasaPound is a rather odd sounding neo-fascist group. Us with Italy is a pro-Berlusconi right-wing coalition. Popular Civic List is a centre-left Christian coalition. More Europe is a pro-European liberal group.

If pieandmash was still contributing he would probably have been able to tell us a bit about them, given their explicit avowal of the Terza Posizione.

Richard Cromwell might know something about them, not seen him for a while sadly.

Casa Pound’s Party logo is basically a Nazi flag with a turtle instead of a Swastika. They don’t hide who they are.

FWIW I reluctantly voted for the 5 Star Movement in the poll That’s what I did too. There can’t be many countries with as many options as Italy, all of which are so unpalatable.

FWIW I reluctantly voted for the 5 Star Movement in the poll Why? I place you as Lega Nord. Normally I probably would, but I’m uncomfortable with their alliance, they call it a”protocol” with United Russia. Furthermore, a 5 Star victory will hasten the demise of the EU despotism.

And the protocol has appeal for me as a Russophile and 'Big Russia' supporter who dislikes the Stans.

Shocked to see the Democratic Party so low in the poll, I think they’re doing a good job. At least their vote is holding up among distinguished forum members. Renzi gambled and lost and since then has been miscalculating rather a lot. There was a major party split recently; the splinter group is part of Liberi e Uguali.

I don’t like the collection of despotic born to fail states that are the Central Asian “Stans” either tbh. I just dislike Putin and his kleptocracy more

Italian unification was a huge error.

Italian unification was a huge error. As was European unification. Same mistakes all over again: wealthy, industrialised North annexes weaker South to open up new markets, thereby ruining nascent Southern industry that hasn't yet reached the same level of competitiveness, ending in a dependent South that forever needs Northern transfer money to stay afloat. Same same.
