Labour HOLD in Shevington with Lower Ground, Wigan. 552 for Shevington Inds, 492 402 for Con, 30 for Grn, 15 for LD, ?? for Labour, according to someone. 765 for Labour. So, if right, would be: Lab 43.4% (+3.4) Shevington Ind 31.3% (+5.0) Con 22.8% (+11.5) Grn 1.7% (-1.9) LD 0.9%

The general rule is that we don't read much (anything...) into December by-elections with comedy turnouts.

Tory strength in Staffs continues We really ought to have won this last time around. It’s still coming though. I rate Ashfield as a more likely gain. More votes to squeeze.
