How are you defining Right in this case? L[N]+FI+FdI In which case there were a few polls in February where FI were c.11, LN were c. 35 and Fri were over 4 and the total was over 50.

How would a party called More Europe fare in the UK?
Would they manage three percent (as in Italy)? They could be led by Adonis and Gina Miller... Then they would be so radioactive they'd glow in the dark..

PolandPoland will elect 51 MEPs plus an extra one if and when the UK leaves. 2014 Results: PO (Civic Platform) | (EPP) | 32.1% | 19 seats | PiS (Law and Justice) | (ECR) | 31.8% | 19 seats | SLD-UP (Democratic Left Alliance - Labour Union) | (S&D) | 9.4% | 5 seats | KNP (Congress of the New Right) | (ENF) | 7.2% | 4 seats | PSL (People's Party) | (EPP) | 6.8% | 4 seats |
This time round, we have a grand Coalition for Europe (KE) involving PO, PSL, SLD, the Greens and .Nowoczesna (a liberal party), so parties affiliated to EPP, S&D, G-EFA and ALDE. Then there's the new party Wiosna (Spring) (S&D) - centre-left social democrats with a green tinge; Kukiz 15 (populist, eurosceptic, EFDD), the Confederation KORWIN Braun Liroy Narodowcy (an alliance set-up around Korwin-Mikke, the former leader of KNP) and LR (Left Together, which includes Labour Union) (GUE-NFL/S&D). Polling is a bit all over the place, especially after the big two, but most polls have PiS a few points ahead of KE (PiS also led in most polls in 2014, before being narrowly pipped on polling day, although this year leads vary from 1 to 14% according to pollster). Wiosna look like coming third and should get into the parliament. Kukiz and Korwin are both polling around 5 or 6% which in past years would be borderline for getting anyone elected and LR don't look like having much chance at the moment.

Kukiz strike me as being rather unpleasant. Especially as a large part of their representatives are/were actually members of the rather dubious National Movement. Whose platform included such fun as forcibly conscripting citizens into a militia and then building watchtowers for them to serve in.

Sounds like a combination of Cavafy's Barbarians and Buzatti's The Tartar Steppe

Austria (above: all respondents; below: only those, who are certain, that they will vote [ResearchAffairs, n=1.000 OnLine]): Remarkable, that FPÖ performs so well - so far they have had always problems to motivate their people to participate in EU-elections. Only 48% of ÖVP-supporters are certain to take part (perhaps, because many Kurz-endorsers of 2017 are EU-critical exStronach/BZÖ/FPÖ?), 52% FPÖ, 55% SPÖ, 60% NEOS, 77% GREENS.

RomaniaRomania will elect 32 MEPs with 1 extra on the UK's departure. 2014 result: Social Democratic Union* | (S&D) | 37.6% | 16 seats | PNL (National Liberal Party) | (ALDE)^ | 15.0% | 6 seats | PDL (Democratic Liberal Party) | (EPP) | 12.2% | 5 seats | Mircea Diaconu (Ind) | (ALDE) | 6.8% | 1 seat | UDMR (Democratic Union of Hungarians) | (EPP) | 6.3% | 2 seats | PMP (People's Movement) | (EPP) | 6.2% | 2 seats |
* Alliance of PSD (Social Democratic Party), the Conservatives and National Union for Progress. ^ switched to EPP after the elections The two Liberal parties merged under the name of the National Liberal Party, but the EPP affiliation following the 2014 election. The People's Movement Party has absorbed the National Union for Progress The Conservatives have merged with the Liberal Reformist Party to form the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats (ALD) Most recent polls show PNL (EPP) with a narrow lead over PSD, who are set to lose quite a few seats. Running third at the moment is an alliance between USR (Save Romania Union) and PLUS (Freedom Unity & Solidarity) - both pro-EU and anti-corruption liberal parties (USR is more centre-right, PLUS more social liberal - set up by ex-PM Dacian Ciolos). They currently have no EU affiliation, but look set to pick up 4-6 seats. Then comes ALD (ALDE) and PRO Romania (ALDE) who should pick up a few seats each. (PRO are a split from PSD by another ex-PM, Victor Ponta). PMP and UDMR are both polling at a level where they may get a seat or may miss out.

Well, indeed, but I wonder if similar phrases will occur to anyone the next time the economic dominance of London and the South-east of England gets discussed. (Retires to a safe place and refuses to return to lit firework.)

(Retires to a safe place and refuses to return to lit firework.) Wallonia is a particularly fun case. Once the first industrialised region after Britain, exceptionally wealthy and treated Flanders as a colony to be used for agricultural produce, with the language hugely repressed. The idea of sending money to Flanders was considered laughable. Then, once the boot was on the other foot, demanding solidarity, language protection and of course cash.
