Any Lib Dem gain tonight (Lewes or East Cambridgeshire look most likely) would be the first gain since Vince Cable became leader I believe. These 2 tweets show how seriously the Glasgow Cardonald is being taken as well: Shouldn't Margaret Ferrier be busy tweeting in Westminster?

EAST CAMBRIDGESHIRE Ely South Christine WHELAN (Liberal Democrats) 527 Sarah Louise BELLOW (The Conservative Party Candidate) 411 Rebecca Anne DENNESS (Labour Party) 384 Didn't expect that result. We comprehensively outworked the Lib Dems and when the Tories started panicking late in the campaign I suspect they did too. Given that we were making some inroads into previous Lib Dem tactical support, the Tory vote must have been very soft (though picking a non-local won't have helped them). Not an ideal result from a Labour perspective, but in raw terms better than I'd have hoped and I suspect the percentage changes could be mangled into a bar chart if you were that way inclined.

To come - just Herefordshire (which I think counts tomorrow), Lewes (which may do so), and the three results from Cannock.
